Parent Workshop
Congregation B'nai Torah Nursery School, 5700 Main St., Trumbull will present a Parent/Caregiver Workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at 7:30 pm. The topic is: The Dynamics of Bullying and will be presented by Stephanie Stacy .
Stacy started with The Center for Women and Families as a Community Educator working with K - 12 youth, developing and facilitating violence prevention workshops for students. In August, 2011 she became the Coordinator of Community Education and Prevention. In this role, she oversees the Community Education Department, provides trainings for adults and professionals and assists in planning awareness events. A graduate of the University of New Haven with a bachelors in Criminal Justice, she is a certified Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor.
The presentation will increase understanding about the dynamics of bullying and the long-term effects on the victims, bullies and bystanders. There will also be information about cyber bullying, gender difference in bullying, important messages to send children and how to promote resiliency with children, family and community to prevent this type of violence. Available area resources for children and families impacted by bullying will be identified.
