Flames Break Out In Basement Of Trumbull Home, Crews Respond: Long Hill FD

A fire was reported in a Trumbull basement after flames were spotted by a resident, according to the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Company.

TRUMBULL, CT — Crews extinguished a fire in the basement of a Trumbull home after flames were spotted by a resident Monday morning, according to the Long Hill Volunteer Fire Company.

In a Facebook post, Long Hill fire officials said crews responded to a report of a structure fire on Church Hill Road after a resident reported seeing flames in their basement.

Crews from Long Hill, as well as the Trumbull Center Fire District and the Nichols Fire Department, found a small fire in the home's service panel with minor extension to the structure, according to fire officials.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire contained until United Illuminating arrived to disconnect the home's power, officials said.

Additional crews also responded to a gas leak inside a separate home in town during the fire, officials said.
