In June, the Connecticut Post reported the town's new demolition review board planned to tour the dilapidated former Del Mar Florist shop to determine whether it should be torn down or saved, as the building was built sometime around 1900 and had possible historical significance.
At that time, town officials said the building was unsafe to enter and had issues that included graffiti on the interior walls, overgrown grass and a hole in the ceiling that leaked water, according to the Connecticut Post.
