What's happening in the Trumbull Library system.

Genealogy Research Roundtable.  Sat. Apr. 13, 10 – 11:30am.  [Time Correction!] Share successes, current projects, and brick walls.  Each participant will be given 5 minutes to tell their story followed by feedback and suggestions from others, including experienced members of CAS.  Register at 10am.  Discussion 10:30am.  Co-sponsored by the Trumbull Library and Connecticut Ancestry Society.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn: An American Story.  Craig Hotchkiss, of The Mark Twain House & Museum.  Sun. Apr. 14, 2 – 3pm.  In his new look at Twain's narrative and the character Huckleberry Finn, Hotchkiss reaffirms this masterpiece, placing it in the context of the larger history of race relations in America from slavery to the modern Civil Rights Movement.  He also shows how the book continues to be a catalyst for positive social change.  Register.  Free.  Co-sponsored by TLS & MTH.

Investing Basics: 20 Tips for Becoming a Smart Investor.  Thurs. Apr. 18, 6:30 - 7:30pm.  John Vaccaro CFP, CLU, Westport Resources, discusses how investing fits into an overall financial plan and provides information about investing concepts, and investing itself.  For Money Smart Week @ Your Library April 20 -27.  Register.  Free.

Poetry Workshop with Ellen Carpenter for Children.  Sat. Apr. 13, 2 – 3pm.  Seventh in a series of poetry workshops for children in grades 1-3, conducted by Trumbull High School student and poetry enthusiast Ellen Carpenter.  This month’s workshop will feature the whimsical poetry of Lewis Carroll. Register.  

 

Bossy Frog Band Visits During April Vacation.  Thurs. Apr. 18, 11 - 11:45am.  Move, groove and laugh with the Bossy Frog Band!  All ages welcome to this special April vacation event.  Drop in!
