Grand Marshal, More Details Announced For 2025 Trumbull Memorial Day Parade

First Selectman Vicki Tesoro has announced further details for the town's 2025 Memorial Day parade, including the event's grand marshal.

TRUMBULL, CT — First Selectman Vicki Tesoro has announced further details for the town's 2025 Memorial Day parade, including the event's grand marshal, and other activities scheduled to take place May 26 in Trumbull.

According to a news release provided by the town, residents are welcome to attend a brief ceremony and wreath-laying at the Vietnam Memorial on White Plains Road at 8 a.m. "in recognition of the lives lost in Vietnam."

The Town Hall ceremony will honor the parade's grand marshal, U.S. Army Captain Jeffrey Wright.

According to Tesoro, Wright attended the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., and graduated in 1979.

He held numerous titles, including second lieutenant, platoon leader, security force platoon leader and aide-de-camp to both Lt. General Ed Dinges and Commanding Lt. General John Crosby, and was eventually promoted to captain prior to his retirement in 1984, according to Tesoro.

Wright has owned a successful realty company, RE/MAX Right Choice, for the past 38 years. He has received many awards for his work there, including the Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor in the RE/MAX system, according to Tesoro.

The parade will step off at 10 a.m., beginning at the new Long Hill Market shopping plaza and ending at Town Hall. Groups wishing to march may register online here.

The town will fly flags on Main Street from Memorial Day until Sept. 11. Anyone who wishes to sponsor a flag can find a purchase form on the town website's Memorial Day page.

Residents can purchase a flag in honor of a soldier currently serving, a current veteran or in memory of a soldier who is deceased. Anyone can sponsor a flag in honor of all soldiers. The names of those being remembered or honored will appear in the program, according to Tesoro.

The town is also conducting a contest this year for Trumbull students in grades 6, 7 and 8 to create a theme for the parade. More information is available here.

"Please join us in honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom," Tesoro said in a news release.
