TRUMBULL, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.
Karolina Szabo nominated her granddaughter Allyson Szabo of Trumbull.

Serving meals at Brightview Nursing home in Shelton.
Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Ally is 17 years old, she could do other things, like being on the cell phone like others her age, but she chooses to help.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Ally is a very helpful person. She is volunteering in the community, and at the church. She is a junior at Trumbull High School. She is a good student, her GPA average as of January 2020 was 4.419. She is a flute player at the Trumbull High School Golden Eagle Marching Band; she is also a member of the High School Girls Varsity tennis team.
She is a committee member of the Norwalk Grassroots Tennis & education Committee.
