How Do Stern Village Gardens Grow?

Trumbull's Stern Village may be have smaller living quarters but it's the outside that matters.
Acting Executive Director Harriet Polansky and residents are working together to create a community garden. She recently had German Cutz of the University of Connecticut's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources talk to residents.
Although it's still in the planning stage, some residents, like Joyce and Gus Aquino, have been growing their own produce in gardens next to the brick apartments.
Gus Aquino is a retiree who owned a Frank's Pizza on Park Avenue in Bridgeport. He also cooks.
"I always have good luck with the tomatoes and cucumbers," he said of his garden.
