Man Broke Into Estranged Wife's Trumbull Home: Police

Police say the family was sleeping at the time of the home invasion.

TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull police arrested a Waterbury man Sunday after he allegedly broke into a home on Stonehouse Road while the family was sleeping. Police say Jamell Nelson, 35, broke into the home at around 12:30 a.m. by climbing up onto the roof and breaking a window in the home.

Police say he exited the home when he heard his wife calling police and his children crying. Nelson's wife had been separated from him for over a year, which is why she moved to Trumbull.

An officer responding to the home found Nelson on the front porch and took him into custody, police say.
