New Sushi, Japanese Cuisine Restaurant Opens In Trumbull
A new Japanese restaurant offering sushi, ramen and other menu items recently opened its doors in Trumbull.
TRUMBULL, CT — A new restaurant serving sushi and other items recently opened its doors in Trumbull, offering customers a "premier Japanese dining experience."
A representative for Izumi Sushi and Japanese Cuisine confirmed to Patch the new restaurant is now open at 123 Monroe Turnpike.
Izumi joins two other eateries, Mex on Main and 123 Pronto, at the Monroe Turnpike plaza, each offering a different type of cuisine for Trumbull customers, according to Economic and Community Development Director Rina Bakalar.

Bakalar said the town was very happy to have Izumi join Trumbull's growing roster of quality restaurants.
"I think they have a great product and a following from their previous restaurant in Monroe," Bakalar said to Patch. "The quality of their food and the opportunity for BYOB will be attractive to potential customers."

She also noted in an email announcing a July 21 ribbon cutting for the restaurant that the owners "have done a wonderful job with the space and the food is delicious."
The restaurant is co-owned by Shirley Lin, a resident of Monroe, and Jacky Zou, who also serves as head chef, CT Insider reports.
According to the restaurant's website, Izumi offers customers a premier Japanese dining experience.
"Specializing in authentic sushi, sashimi, and traditional Japanese cuisine, Izumi Sushi offers a blend of time-honored techniques and modern flavors," the website reads. "Our skilled chefs craft each dish with the freshest ingredients, ensuring a delightful journey through Japan’s rich culinary heritage."
The menu features a wide variety of sushi options from its sushi bar, as well as hibachi items, ramen and noodles among other items, as well as milk teas and fresh fruit teas, according to the website.
