Obituary: Diane M. Theriault, 75, of Trumbull
Diane, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and avid animal lover, served as Coordinator of Public Health Nursing in Fairfield for many years.

TRUMBULL, CT - (From Shaughnessy Banks Funeral Home) Diane M. Theriault, 75 of Trumbull and formerly of Fairfield, the beloved wife of 53 years to Ted Theriault, passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Diane was born on November 24, 1946 in Springfield, MA to the late Harvey and Dora Girouard. She graduated from Cathedral High School and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
As an RN, she pursued a career in pediatric nursing in Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan and Connecticut.
Diane retired as Coordinator of Public Health Nursing in the town of Fairfield after 25 years of service.
Diane was an animal lover with a special fondness for dogs and horses.
Some of her favorite pastimes were hosting family outings, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
She loved to travel and held special memories of trips to Hawaii, Italy, San Francisco (including the wine country) and the annual vacation for many years to Aruba.
Diane enjoyed trips to the casino, the many trips to Florida, Maine, New Hampshire, Seattle and Boston and her home for 26 years on the beach in Fairfield.
In addition to her husband Ted, she is survived by two sons, Michael of CT and Gregory and his wife Lisa of Concord, MA. She will also be missed by her two cherished grandsons, who were her world, Michael of CO and Tyler of MA.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Jeffery Theriault.Friends are invited to join her family on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Rd. in Fairfield for her Mass.
Interment will be private. A celebration of her life will be planned for another date.
