Town Council District 6 - Reelection

What town do you live in?

Party Affiliation:

Democrat

Occupation:

Teacher

Family:

Married to my husband and we have three children.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?

No.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:

Town Council since 2019, previously served as Chairman of sub-committee.

Why are you seeking this office?

All communities deserve representatives who understand both their collective needs and the individual stakes of the people who call them home. I am honored to have been repeatedly reelected by my neighbors, a responsibility I take to heart. That trust reflects a shared commitment to progress, and I remain deeply motivated to serve. I have given and will continue to give my very best in the interest of our community.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:

As an elected official, I have the privilege and responsibility of helping guide our town through both immediate challenges and long-term planning. While taxes are a necessary part of maintaining a strong, vibrant community, I take seriously the role of influencing when and by how much they increase always with fairness and sustainability in mind. As a lifelong educator, I bring a deep, personal commitment to ensuring our schools remain strong, forward-thinking, and financially sustainable for generations to come. I am also committed to making sure Trumbull remains a place where residents can age in place with dignity and support.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

My commitment to Trumbull is grounded in a thoughtful understanding of the facts and a deep respect for the truth. I believe sound decisions come from honest dialogue and accurate information. My goal is always to serve in a way that strengthens our town and reflects the best interests of the people who call it home.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Throughout this campaign, and always, my priority remains clear: to serve the full spectrum of Trumbull’s residents with fairness and foresight. From supporting older adults who want to remain in their homes, to addressing long-overdue facility needs in our otherwise high-performing schools, I’m committed to meeting today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow. Our emergency responders and healthcare services deserve continued investment, and so do the families who rely on a stable tax environment to plan their futures. We have done this and if elected I will continue to do this! Above all, I believe in building a Trumbull that is inclusive, equitable, and welcoming to all—because a stronger community leaves no one behind.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

As a voting member of the Town Council, I’ve helped pass responsible budgets that kept taxes stable while protecting the services our residents rely on. I’ve supported investments that strengthened Trumbull’s ratings, ensured long-term financial health. I’ve been a strong advocate for education, backing increased school funding and major infrastructure upgrades, including new projects that improve our community. I’ve also supported initiatives that improved our parks, enhanced public safety, and expanded resources for seniors. These accomplishments reflect my ability to make informed, balanced decisions that move Trumbull forward.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

The advice I take often has to do with time, that wonderful resource. It sometimes seems endless. This is one quote that resonates with me: “Treat time like a budget, every moment spent is an investment in something. Make sure it's something that matters.” I spend my time on things that matter most.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I attended NYU, Fairfield University, completed a 6th year degree and am working on another. I may not have all the answers, but I do my homework and that concept is one I will continue to put to work for my neighbors here in Trumbull when reelected.
