Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No.
Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Yes I am serving my 2nd term as Town Council. I also served on the Library Board as well as the building committee for the new Senior Community Center.
Why are you seeking this office?
I care. I care about this town, the wonderful people that live here, and the business that grow and thrive here. I care about equity and diversity, and am a fierce advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Having neuro-divergent children, I seek to ensure that every child in Trumbull gets a fair and appropriate education.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Bringing us together as neighbors and friends. When we remember that we are all human beings with hopes and dreams for vibrant futures, we can set aside differences and focus on what matters: treating everyone fairly and continuing to make Trumbull a place where EVERYONE can reach their full potential.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I believe that Trumbull's seniors deserve a new center. The old center is simply not adequate to serve the needs of the community. We need and deserve a new center. Both of the Republican candidates in my district oppose the new center.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Dignity for the LGBTQ community. A library that is free to circulate ALL books. Fair educational policies that serve the needs of our diverse population. Reasonable development that helps shoulder the tax burden in a fair way.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I serve on the building committee for the new senior/community center. I am in my 2nd term as a council person. I advocate for my neighbors when issues arise. I listen. I act. I care.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
You learn more with your ears open and your mouth closed. You have two ears and one mouth. Do the math.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I care and I will work every day to earn your vote. My attendance and voting record are something to be proud of. I show up. I listen. I do the work.
