Zoning Board of Appeals

What town do you live in?

Trumbull

Party Affiliation:

Democrat

Occupation:

Attorney

Family:

Wife is Laura Broder (58), who is a lover of wine tasting and sight-seeing. I have HER vote.

Previous public office, appointive or elective:

I have served on the Pequonnock Valley Management Commission and Civil Service Board.

Why are you seeking this office?

I am seeking this position because, as a practicing Attorney, I can assist the Town in its efforts to develop, while avoiding over-development.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:

Overdevelopment. I intend to use my experience to ensure that proposals address the Town's concerns, and that the decisions of our Boards can be upheld in Court.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I am a practicing attorney. Years ago, I clerked for the only Judge in Fairfield County assigned to handle Zoning and Land Use appeals. My opponent has none of this relevant experience.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

The Senior Center Referendum, development at the Trumbull Mall and anticipated Affordable Housing applications.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Not only have I served the Town of Trumbull in official capacities, but I have also been active in the Jane Ryan Father's Club and PTA, and a sponsor of both the THS Football and Rugby teams.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

You make your own "luck".
