Why are you seeking this office?

I am excited to contribute to such an important task — the education of our children. My two sons had wonderful teachers, activities and opportunities through our school system and I am committed to pay it forward to help our young residents and their families have a similar experience.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:

The single most pressing education issue is maintaining the continued excellence of our school system. My primary goal is to ensure that each student has the best opportunities possible to learn, grow and be well positioned to thrive after graduation. In order to advance towards this goal, it is essential to maximize the value of each dollar entrusted to the Board of Education and support transparency so that taxpayers and parents have an ability to easily understand how the school system works for us.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

As an attorney with nearly three decades of experience, I bring the critical thinking skills and demands for accountability that are essential to ensure our school system makes the best decisions possible for our children.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Educating voters on our budget process, so that parents can be best positioned to advocate for the issues most impacting their children.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

In addition to being a partner with one of America's top corporate law firms, as recognized by Forbes, I am a Chairperson Emeritus of ARI of Connecticut, a major nonprofit organization providing services to individuals with disabilities and their families. Over the years, I have also volunteered directly with our youth, from pro bono work in representing abandoned/neglected children to helping kids learn to play soccer on Saturdays at AYSO. With the combination of my commitment to children, experience in the governance of organizations and knowledge of our local government, I am excited and confident to continue to serve our Town on the Board of Education.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

I remember this question from the last election, and my answer is still the same -- "Call Her." Nearly 25 years of marriage later, it's still the best advice anyone ever gave me.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I am very thankful to the Trumbull Public Schools and the wonderful teachers, activities and opportunities that helped my two sons become who they are today, and I am excited by the opportunity to continue paying it forward over the next four years.
