Town Council - District 1

What town do you live in?

Party Affiliation:

Democrat

Occupation:

I have been a teacher at Daniels Farm School in Trumbull for 30 years.

Family:

My wife Jessica is an English teacher and Drama Coordinator at THS.
My daughter Julie is a teacher and soccer coach at Trumbull High.
My son Andy recently graduated from the University of Delaware and has a start-up clothing line.
My son Timothy is a sophomore at Western CT State University.

Why are you seeking this office?

Having taught in Trumbull since 1994, and having lived in Trumbull for 20 years, I feel it is time to give back to our wonderful town. I am deeply involved in youth programs, athletics and service groups. I am committed to supporting our strong schools, youth and senior services, and keeping Trumbull a vibrant, welcoming community.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is maintaining our town's success and growth so that it positively impacts their own family. What I hope to do for that is keeping Trumbull schools strong. I hope to continue to fully utilized the programs in place to nurture student success and social emotional growth. I hope to keep our town a desired place for home buyers and a sought after community to live in.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

All of the candidates running for this post are outstanding citizens. I have interacted with all of them through my time living and working in Trumbull. I would say one difference I bring is my time teaching in Trumbull and being involved in town activities, combined with seeing my own kids grow up in our amazing community. These two different perspectives will hopefully help me serve our town strongly.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

From safe roads to strong schools to reliable services, I hope to prioritize the projects that serve the most residents while keeping our taxes stable.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My thirty years at Daniels Farm School have been amazing, helping students grow and become productive citizens, often in our own community. Leading our student council, coordinating our intramural program, hosting our variety show, and being involved in so many school events has taught me the importance of becoming actively involved in programs. So now I hope to use these leadership skills to become actively involved in our town's programs.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

A teacher once told me, and I pass this same advice on to my students each year in our memory book, to find something you love to do in life, and treasure it.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I would just like the voters to know how much I have loved my team teaching and living in Trumbull.
