Resident Caught In 'Fast-Moving Currents' At Trumbull Park Rescued: Town
First Selectman Vicki Tesoro also said a number of parks and other town facilities are closed Monday due to flooding from Sunday's storm.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Trumbull resident was rescued from "fast-moving currents" at a park in town Monday morning following heavy rainfall and flooding caused by a weekend storm, according to First Selectman Vicki Tesoro.
In a statement released Monday following the storm, Tesoro thanked the town police and fire departments for rescuing a resident in Twin Brooks Park who got caught in fast-moving currents earlier that day.
"Please stay away from the rising waters in the parks," Tesoro said in a statement. "Please continue to exercise caution as you are traveling and/or walking in the area over the next few days."

Tesoro also announced the Mary J. Sherlach Counseling Center, Old Mine Park, Twin Brooks Park and Unity Park are all closed as of Monday due to flooding from Sunday's storm.

"We will provide updates when these town facilities are reopened," Tesoro said.
Tesoro thanked the town police, public works and fire departments for responding to neighboring communities Sunday as they dealt with life-threatening issues caused by the storm.
