St. Vincent’s Medical Center Earns 6th consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group

Consistent recognition for safety and quality care

(Chris Rakoczy)

Hartford HealthCare St. Vincent’s Medical Center earned a sixth consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade for Fall 2025 from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

“Quality and safety are the most important aspects of the care we deliver at St. Vincent’s Medical Center,” said Hartford HealthCare’s Fairfield Region President William M. Jennings. “Every person who walks through our doors is trusting us with their most important asset, their health. The talent and dedication of our colleagues are a testament to our consistent recognition and high marks from Leapfrog.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that affect more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
