The subsidized housing complex for the elderly and disabled are forming a neighborhood watch.
They got advice recently from Trumbull Police Officer Joseph Velky, who told them "the most important thing is communication."
Residents don't have to be mobile. They can watch and call 911 if they need to, he said.
The veteran officer also asked everyone to get to know their neighbors.
The residents have taken other matters into their own hands with parking. Non-residents sometimes park illegally but watchful residents are calling police to report illegally parked cars.
The watchers wear navy blue shirts and reflective vests.
