Suspect Arrested In Fatal Trumbull Crash From 2023: State Police

The Route 8 crash, which occurred in December 2023, killed Daniel Demichael, 34, of Norwalk, according to authorities.

TRUMBULL, CT — A 26-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested this week on a warrant in connection with a fatal crash on Route 8 in Trumbull from December 2023, according to Connecticut State Police.

Christopher Lazo was arrested on charges of negligent homicide with a motor vehicle; failure to maintain proper lane; and improper passing. He surrendered to state police at Troop G in Bridgeport on Tuesday.

The crash killed Norwalk resident Daniel Demichael, 34.

According to state police, Demichael's vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Lazo, as Lazo was merging onto Route 8 from Route 15.

Lazo was released after posting a $10,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court on Dec. 23.
