• An Ounce of Prevention: A Safety Presentation for Parents & Caregivers, by Renowned Sexual Abuse Prevention Expert Pattie Fitzgerald. 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Trumbull Library. The speaker is recognized as an expert in prevention education.  Pattie will share her guidelines and language for talking to children in an effective, non-fearful manner, including Safe Smarts, Prevention Strategies, Common Predator Tricks, Red Flags, and more.  Please register.  Free.  Details online.

• Shelton Farmers Market, 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., Downtown Shelton; Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
• The Beardsley Zoo, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., 1875 Noble Ave., Bridgeport. The Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport is Connecticut’s only major Zoo. It primarily features North and South American wildlife and has over 300 different species.
