Tragedy Averted In Trumbull Fire: Report

An overnight fire could have taken a tragic turn on Green Ridge Road.

TRUMBULL, CT — Fire officials say that smoke detectors woke up sleeping residents on Green Ridge Road on Aug. 2, and credit them for saving their lives, reports the Trumbull Times. According to the report, the occupants of the home were sleeping and awakened before things got worse.

Firefighters quickly responded and contained the fire to the basement. One occupant was transported to the hospital just for observation, and no firefighters were injured.

The fire remains under investigation.
