Trumbull 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places

TRUMBULL, CT — On Nov. 7, Trumbull residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions.

Contested races include: first selectman, town clerk, town treasurer and the school and finance boards.

Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of State’s website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration.

To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

First Selectman, Town Clerk and Town Treasurer

In Trumbull, Vicki Tesoro, a Democrat, is running for first selectman against David Pia, a Republican. For town clerk, Mary Markham is the Democratic candidate and Lisa Valenti is the Republican candidate. Anthony Musto, a Democrat, is running for town treasurer against John DelVecchio Jr., a Republican.

Board of Finance

For the Board of Finance, you'll vote for up to three people. Democratic candidates include: Paul Timpanelli, David Galla and Tim Cantafio. Republican candidates are: Mark Block, Christopher DeCruze and Rosemary Seaman.

Board of Education

For the Board of Finance, you'll vote for up to four people, however no more than two from one party. Democratic candidates are: Lucinda Timpanelli, Julia McNamee, Patricia Borghesan and Susan Schaaf. Republican candidates are: Chris Bandecchi, Bob Gerbert, Gloria Manna and Alison Squiccimarro.

Board of Assessment Appeals

For the Board of Assessment Appeals, the Democratic candidate is Anthony D'Aquila and the Republican candidate is Richard Croll.

Planning and Zoning boards and commissions

For the Planning and Zoning Commission, Karen DelVecchio, a Democrat, is running against Matt Sather, a Republican for a five-year term beginning this year. Separately, Democrat FrederickGarrity Jr. is running against Republican Bryce Bollert for a five-year term beginning in 2024.

For the Zoning Board of Appeals, Catherine Creager, a Democrat, is running against Kim DiCorpo, a Republican, for a five-year term beginning this year. Separately, Democrat Steven Elbaum is running against Republican Pete Koval for a five-year term beginning in 2024.

Constable

For constable, you'll vote for up to two people. Raymond Baldwin and David Kayne are the Democratic candidates and Jeff Penkoff and Patricia Kelly are the Republican candidates.

Town Council

For town council, you'll vote for up to three people. In District 1, the Democratic candidates are Debra Silber and Mary Isaac. The Republican candidates are Eric Story and Mike Buswell.

In District 2, the Democratic candidates are Jennifer Winschel and Bill Mecca. The Republican candidates are Ann Sather and George Sarris.

In District 3, the Democratic candidates are Jason Marsh and Alissa Hall. The Republican candidates are Richard Wolf and Veronica Lenzen.

In District 4, the Democratic candidates are Ashley Gaudiano and Joanne Glasser-Orenstein. The Republican candidates are Anthony Dorsey and Carl Massaro.

In District 5, the Democratic candidates are Scott Wich and Nan Swan. The Republican candidates are John Foreman and Joe Pifko.

In District 6, the Democratic candidates are Kelly Mallozzi and Joy Colon. The Republican candidates are Justin Scheuble and Steve Lemoine.

In District 7, the Democratic candidates are Kevin Shively and Nikki Satin. The Republican candidates are Tony Scinto and Evan Centopani.
