Trumbull Beer Snack Bakery Closing After 9 Years
A Trumbull company specializing in beer-infused baked goods and beer snacks announced it will soon close after nearly a decade in business.
TRUMBULL, CT — A Trumbull beer snack company and bakery recently announced it will close this year after nearly a decade in business.
The Drunk Alpaca, a company specializing in beer-infused baked goods and beer snacks, announced in a Facebook post on July 10 the bakery would be closing "after an unforgettable ride."
A separate post Monday noted the business has served the Trumbull community for nine years.

While the company is based in Trumbull, it does not operate a traditional storefront and sells its items at breweries, gift shops, farm stands and pop ups all over the state and through its website.
"This decision wasn't easy, but we know it's the right time," the July 10 post reads. "We're endlessly grateful—for every customer, every conversation, and every crunchy moment shared over a cold one. From the farmers markets, fairs and festivals, we've met amazing makers and fellow small business owners, many who have become close friends!"

While a specific date has not been announced yet, the July 14 post noted the business will close at the end of the summer.
"We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support and trusting us to make your snack time, party or holiday special," the post reads. "Thank you for supporting our small business. You made every step of this journey worthwhile."
Prior to closing, The Drunk Alpaca's snacks will still be sold at the Monroe Farmers Market for the summer every Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and beer snacks will be available at local breweries and farm stands while supplies last, according to the post.
The famers market takes place June through October at the Monroe Town Green, located on the corner of Fan Hill Road and Route 111 in Monroe, every Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., according to the market's website.
Ahead of the closure, The Drunk Alpaca will hold a business tag sale Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its facility, located at 55 Merritt Boulevard in Trumbull.
Customers can not only stock up on beer snacks and sweets, but also purchase fixtures, displays and equipment for sale during the weekend event.
Items are sold as is on a "first come, first served" basis, and cash payments are preferred, according to the post.
"Whether you're a longtime customer or just discovering us, stop by to say goodbye, grab some great deals and help us clear it all out," the post reads. "Your support has meant the world to us."
