Feeling down? Trying to beat the blues? Just have an urge? Then David Varker has a solution for you.
Varker lets out his emotions on canvas, painting in an art studio next door to Grace Episcopal Church. Other people can do the same.
Varker, who immigrated from England at about 10, has always favored a brush.
"I always liked to paint and draw and still do," he said. For some, it's more than that. "People write, people act" to relax or vent, Varker said. Others paint.
The room has really been open since September but the winter months reduced attendance.
Now he's hoping spring will draw in some new faces.
"We're open every day of the week," Varker said, adding, "Here's the space. It's here for you to use."
The studio is Upper Lewis Hall and is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The church is at 5958 Main St.
