Alison Lotti Braig, 19, of Trillium Court, Maryland, and Christina Rose Caputo, 19, of New York, are each charged with sixth-degree larceny.
Police said the two walked around large purses while removing UPC codes from merchandise, before putting them into the bags.
The items totaled $95, police said.
He was released on a written promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.
