Jonathan James Rotz, 32, of Locust Street, Milford, is accused of traveling 90 mph on the Merritt Parkway before he was arrested at his home.
Rotz is charged reckless driving, disobeying an officers' signal, engaging police in pursuit, using a cell phone while driving and failure to maintain minimum insurance, after the April 20 incident.
Police said Rotz was driving a VW Jetta on Route 108, near the Merritt Parkway, when he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. He then drove away again and entered the parkway, followed by a motorcycle police officer.
After a mile, the officer broke off pursuit and traced Rotz through the license plate, police said.
Rotz's bond was set at $10,000 for an appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court.
