Emanuel Ranger, 18, of Highland Avenue, Bridgeport, is charged with four counts of possession of a shoplifting device and a single count of sixth-degree larceny.
Police said he took item from Macy's in the Westfield Trumbull Mall and was caught with shoplifting devices including a knife, a wrench and pliers.
His bond was set at $2,500 for an appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court.
