Alexander Gilberto Garcia, 28, of Cleveland Avenue, Bridgeport, was arrested on drug charges after allegedly hitting a telephone pole.
Garcia is charged with possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI and possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.
Police said he hit a pole on Madison Avenue near Buck Hill Road and was transported by EMS to a hospital where he tested positive for narcotics use.
He was released on a written promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.
