A New York man is accused of stealing cell phones from Best Buy in Trumbull and trying to return them.
Hershell Maxwell, 21, is charged with fifth-degree larceny.
Police said he worked part-time at Best Buy and took the phones on April 4. He allegedly admitted to the theft. The phones were valued at a total of $2,500, police said.
He was released on a written promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.
