Trumbull Day Rolls in Saturday

It's back.

Come to Trumbull Saturday to welcome the return of Trumbull Day.

The festival, which returns to its original stomping grounds near Trumbull High School, was cancelled in 2010 and held at the Westfield Trumbull Mall in 2011.

The 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. event will feature music, fireworks, rides, games, vendors and a beer and wine tent.

The band lineup will be DJ Seth Carley, the George Taterosian Band, the Brian Butler Jazz Quartet, Forget Paris, Remember September, the What Up Funk Band and the Crystal Pyramid Band.

Admission for adults is $7; $5 for children ages 6-13  and seniors; and free for children 5 and younger and for military personnel on active duty (who must show ID).

The family funpack for two adults and two children is $20. No backpacks are allowed and all other bags are subject to search.

The event's Website is https://sites.google.com/site/trumbullday2013/home.

The event was started in 1972 and grew in popularity over the years, and people from other states and celebrities attended. It was cancelled in 2010 for economic reasons.

This is the first year the beer tent is back, after years of no alcohol. Beer and wine are to be kept under the tent.
