Trumbull Farmers' Market Opening Date Postponed

Town officials said the farmers' market was originally scheduled to open this week but has been postponed due to forecasted severe weather.

TRUMBULL, CT — The opening day of the annual farmers market has been postponed due to forecasted severe weather, according to the town.

In a post on the town website, Trumbull officials said the opening of the farmers' market, originally scheduled for Thursday, has ben pushed back a week to May 29.

"Due to the severity of the weather forecast, including a predicted nor'easter and high winds, we've made the difficult decision to cancel the opening day of the Trumbull farmers' market," the post reads.

Town officials noted they were disappointed to delay the opening but noted the safety of customers and vendors during the outdoor event is their number one priority.

The market will now be held Thursdays beginning May 29 through Oct. 16, rain or shine, at Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull.

The market will be open May-September from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in October. The market will be closed on June 19 and Sept. 11.

Parking stickers will not be enforced during the market hours, according to town officials.

The weekly community event will feature a wide range of locally grown produce, meat, herbs, flowers, eggs and more.
