Trumbull Home Struck By Lightning, Chimney Damaged: Long Hill FD
The chimney of a Trumbull home was damaged after lightning struck the house over the weekend, according to fire officials.
TRUMBULL, CT — The chimney of a Trumbull home was damaged after lightning struck the house Saturday afternoon, according to fire officials.
In a Facebook post, Long Hill Volunteer Fire Company officials said crews responded to the north end of their district in town after receiving a report of a house struck by lightning.
When crews arrived, they found lightning had struck the home's chimney, leaving it structurally damaged, Long Hill officials said.

The home itself was not significantly damaged by the lightning, and there was no evidence of fire at the house, officials said.
Crews removed loose stones from the roof and temporarily secured the chimney to the roof to ensure the residents' safety.

The scene was then "left in the hands of the town building department," officials said.
