TRUMBULL, CT — Sustainable Trumbull is partnering with Residential Waste Systems to offer a free pumpkin composting event this weekend.
According to the town website, the composting event will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at Trumbull High School alongside Sustainable Trumbull's monthly recycling drive.

Residents are invited to drop off their carved or uncarved pumpkins free of glue, glitter, paint, candles or other adornments.
Those who participate can reduce food waste and methane gas production by keeping heavy food waste such as pumpkins out of the trash.
