Following the enthusiastic turnout and positive feedback from last year's fair, which brought together more than 25 organizations and hundreds of attendees, this year's event promises another meaningful opportunity for residents to engage with the people and groups making a difference throughout Trumbull and the wider Fairfield County area, according to the library.
The volunteer fair provides a welcoming space for residents to learn about local non-profit organizations offering a wide range of volunteer opportunities, from education and youth services to environmental advocacy, animal care, healthcare, civic groups and more.

The aim of the event is to make it easier for people to find causes that align with their interests and availability, whether they're looking to give back occasionally or commit to something long-term, according to the library.
This year, approximately 75 percent of groups in attendance welcome student volunteers aged 14–19 and offer credit hours. Some also have scholarship programs and service opportunities that support college applications or professional development, according to the library.
"Many of our attendees, especially students and seniors, are looking for more than just a task," Adult Services Librarian Elizabeth Adams said in a news release, "they want to feel part of something. Volunteering provides that social connection and sense of purpose. It's an incredible way to meet people, learn new skills and become more rooted in your community."
Groups scheduled to attend include Wakeman Boys & Girls Club, Filling in the Blanks, Clothes to Kids of Fairfield County, the American Red Cross, VITAS Healthcare, Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Friends of Appalachia, Literacy Volunteers of Greater Bridgeport, Trumbull Community Women, Trumbull Animal Group and more.
The full list of confirmed organizations is available here.
Attendees are encouraged to drop in at any point during the three-hour event to meet organization representatives, ask questions and discover volunteer roles that could be the perfect fit. No prior experience is needed, just an open mind and a willingness to connect, according to the library.
