Trumbull Man Accused of Assaulting Co-Worker

The victim was knocked unconscious after he was shoved into a refrigerator, according to police.

GREENWICH, CT - A ‘workplace disagreement’ in a Greenwich office building ended with the arrest of a Trumbull man after a co-worker was knocked unconscious.

It was during lunch time on Feb. 26 when two people were discussing workplace performances when the suspect apparently injected himself into the conversation and a disagreement ensued, according to Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

“It was a workplace discussion about performance issues between more than two subjects and one of them took offense,” Gray said.

Two witnesses told police that the suspect is accused of pushing the 54-year-old victim into a refrigerator so hard that it knocked the victim unconscious. The victim, who was treated at Greenwich Hospital for a possible concussion, told police he didn’t have any recollection of the incident that occurred in a kitchen area of an office at 777 W. Putnam Ave.

The witnesses told police that after the victim was knocked unconscious, Sherwood Goldman Taylor, 47, of Horseshoe Drive, Trumbull, then threw a bucket of water on the man.

Taylor was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was released after posting a $520 bond and scheduled to appear March 4 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
