Trumbull Police Reach Fundraising Goal For K-9's Surgery

TRUMBULL, CT — With donations pouring in over the past week, Trumbull police have reached its fundraising goal to pay for K-9 Officer Bane's emergency intestinal surgery, the department announced Monday.

"The donations have been from Trumbull residents along with non Trumbull Residents," officials wrote on Facebook. "One being as far as Texas!"

Bane, a 3-year-old male German Shepherd, is expected to make a full recovery. His handler is Officer Greg Lee.

"Since we believe we will be able to cover the medical costs for Bane, at this time, we wanted to share this wonderful news," authorities said. "If anyone wishes to make a donation to the K-9 you may continue to do so by mailing a check to: The Trumbull Police Department, Attn: Chief’s Office, 158 Edison Road, Trumbull, CT 06611. Please note in the memo section K-9 donation.

"As always we thank you for your support and generosity to all the members of the Trumbull Police Department."
