Trumbull Police Warn Residents Of High School 'Senior Assassin' Game, Offer Safety Tips
Police have sent a public service announcement about a game involving high school seniors and water guns, but noted they do not endorse it.

TRUMBULL, CT — Police have released a public service announcement regarding an ongoing game involving high school seniors in Trumbull and water guns, but noted they do not endorse it.
In a Facebook post this week, police said the game involves seniors attempting to be the "last senior standing" by "shooting" their fellow seniors with water guns.
"This is a public service announcement because inevitably, the police will receive calls of suspicious subjects who turn out to be students playing the game," police wrote on Facebook. "We are NOT endorsing the game; we merely want to keep the public informed."

Police also noted it is important for students and parents to consider how this game may appear to the public and offered the following safety tips:
- Do NOT trespass onto other people’s property while playing the game, especially at night! If you are asked to leave, do so.
- Use brightly colored water guns that make them easily identifiable as water guns/toys!
- Do NOT hide in a dark place carrying anything that can be mistaken for a firearm! This is a recipe for disaster. Do NOT wear masks, camouflage, etc.
- If you see the police coming, do NOT run or hide. Simply show yourselves and explain to the officers what you are doing. Cooperate if they ask you to stop.
"As always, if you see someone or something suspicious, say something," police wrote on Facebook. "Do not confront anyone; call 911. We'll check it out for you!"
