TRUMBULL, CT — A renovation of the Tashua Pool in Trumbull is now complete and it is expected to reopen soon, according to town officials.

In an update posted to the town website Friday, town officials said they are currently awaiting a certificate of occupancy from a state health inspector, however a July opening for the pool is still planned.

Earlier this month, town officials said work was continuing on the renovation and work on the building was nearing completion ahead of a July opening.

Renovations at the Tashua Pool began in September following its seasonal closure.

Town officials said they were investing in a comprehensive upgrade of the high-use multigenerational facility, supported by a combination of bond funding and $850,000 in American Rescue Plan Act allocations.

The project includes improvements to the main pool, restrooms, dressing rooms and concession areas, all of which had exceeded their useful life, town officials said.

The former children's pool was also planned to be converted into a splash pad, providing a safer and more engaging space for younger swimmers, according to town officials.

Tashua Pool serves hundreds of residents each summer and is also a key location for swim instruction programs that help young children build confidence in the water and promote lifelong water safety skills; investing in the renovation ensures the facility remains safe, functional and accessible for years to come, town officials said.
