Trumbull Resident Sworn In As New Police Officer

TRUMBULL, CT — Derek Cohen, a Trumbull resident with nearly two decades of experience as a police officer in New Haven, was sworn in this week as a full-time officer for the Trumbull Police Department.

In a Facebook post, police welcomed Cohen to their ranks after being sworn in Monday by First Selectman Vicky Tesoro.

He is set to begin his field training immediately, according to police.

Cohen holds an associate degree from Housatonic Community College and previously served as a New Haven police officer for almost 18 years.

He brings an extensive background of knowledge and experience to the department, police said.
