Trumbull's Frame Creations Moving Operations to Shelton

Paul Tomassetti blames the economy but not the Trumbull Center landlords.

The Frame Creations  branch in Trumbull Center still looks occupied, but soon it will it be empty as the owners are moving store operations to their Huntington Center location in Shelton.

After years of running multiple stores, the business, which is partly online, is down to one brick-and-mortar store.

Owners Paul and Carol Tomassetti of Shelton opened the Trumbull branch in 1998. Paul Tomassetti praised the landlords and blamed the economy.

"They've been very good to us. They've been helpful. [They] said, 'What can we do to get you to stay?'", said Paul Tomassetti.

The couple's store in Huntington Center opened in 1994, but they had stores in Orange, Milford and Branford at one point. Once they had four stores open at the same time, he added.

The business has seen the couple through 30 years. "We've been framing pictures for a long time," he said.

But times have changed and people have less disposable income.

So far, the move has not hurt the business. "We've had a lot of Trumbull customers come to Huntington," Tomassetti said.

The business' Website is www.framecreations.com.
