Vital Summer Reading for July 4 at Town Hall

Start your July 4 by going back to the beginning: join Trumbull's Cub Scouts at Town Hall for a reading of the Declaration of Independence.

The second annual reading starts at 10 a.m. at the steps.

"This is a brief ceremony but a heartwarming way to start your day and celebrate the birth of this great nation," said Trumbull resident Tracy Franzen. "Cub Scouts have been invited to be the Honorary Color Guard and lead the Pledge of Allegiance.  Patriotic songs will be sung including the 'Star Spangled Banner' and 'God Bless America' during the ceremony," she said.

"Citizens of the town will participate in reading parts of one of the most important founding documents of our country.  Bring your family, friends and flags," Franzen added.
