Simone Linda Medina, 28, of Fairfield Avenue, Stamford, is charged with third-degree robbery and fifth-degree larceny.
Police said Medina took two purses, valued at about $550, while in Lord & Taylor in Trumbull. She then hid behind a counter before trying to leave, according to police.
She also allegedly struggled with police and security.
Her bond was set at $2,500 for an appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court.
