VERNON, CT — Two Vernon Halloween traditions are ready for another season.

They are the Vernon Parks and Recreation Drive-Through Trunk-or-Treat event and the Cornerstone Foundation's free costume boutique.

The 2025 Trunk-or-Treat is slated for Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Henry Park. It is open to Vernon residents and the first 500 children will get treats from the many town departments and organizations that line the one-way trek through the park.

Families must remain in their vehicles and use the park's 120 South Street entrance.

Cornerstone's free costume boutique opens Friday and free costumes were be offered for children and parents.

Children must be present to pick out a costume.

Here's the schedule:

  • Oct. 10 - 4:30 to 7 p.m.
  • Oct. 11 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Oct. 13 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Oct. 17 - 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Oct. 18 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Oct. 25 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
