Bethany Hanchett to perform in Rockville on November 3
This will be the Poughkeepsie, NY composer, singer and guitarist's first coffeehouse gig

Jacob's Well Christian Coffeehouse will feature solo acoustic guitarist and singer Bethany Hanchett from Poughkeepsie, New York on Friday, November 3. Doors will open at 7 p.m., with the live music starting at 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at The Oasis, a cozy renovated 1800s storefront adjacent to Union Church at 3 Elm Street in the historic Rockville section of Vernon. Admission and refreshments are free.
From the time she was a little girl, Hanchett has loved to make music and has believed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As her journey has taken her from a girl with a child-like faith to a woman with an abiding trust in the Lord, music has been a faithful companion and friend.
Hanchett was born in San Francisco and grew up in the Chicago suburbs, where she played the violin, sang in choirs and served on church worship teams. She studied classical voice in college, but turned her attention toward her family and home upon getting married and becoming a mother. The gift of a guitar in 2017 reignited a desire to express her creativity through music. She began writing songs inspired by her daily experiences as a mother, and sharing them on her YouTube channel. Jacob's Well will be her first live performance at a Christian coffeehouse.

Now in its 29th year, Jacob's Well is one of the oldest continuously-operating Christian coffeehouses in the Northeast. "There's nothing like being here in-person," says coffeehouse founder and director Drew Crandall; "However, if you cannot join us on-site, the event will be live streamed and archived on YouTube and re-broadcast on the Community Voice Channel."
