VERNON, CT — A 52-year-old Vernon man is facing several criminal charges after fleeing an altercation at a local home, police said.

The man had been involved in a domestic dispute at 4:04 p.m. Saturday and fled the scene prior to officers arriving, according to an arrest report.

Officers spotted the man heading north on West Street near Reagan Road, but he initially failed to stop when an officer tried to pull him over.

He was eventually stopped further down West and was arrested, police said. The man was charged with engaging police in a pursuit third-degree assault, disobeying the signal of an officer, threatening in the second degree and disorderly conduct, an arrest report shows.
