VERNON, CT — Vernon police have made an arrest in connection with a vehicle ramming another on a local road over the Memorial Day weekend.

The driver of the offending vehicle, a 32-year-old Vernon man, has been charged with driving under the influence and was to appear in Rockville Superior Court Tuesday.

The crash took place just after 2 a.m. on May 25, police said. According to an arrest report, an erratic driver's car slammed into a parked vehicle at the northern end of East Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, the driver was uncooperative and refused to take a field sobriety test, police said.

He was not hurt, but was taken from the scene in a police cruiser, according to a crash report.
