VERNON, CT — A woman who crashed her car at a busy Vernon intersection wound up having a high-potency narcotic on her, police said.

Police released details of the July 16 incident this week.

At 5:08 p.m. that day, Vernon police were dispatched to the area of Reservoir Road and Bolton Road, and noticed the driver showing "numerous indications of impairment," according to an arrest report. The driver, a 46-year-old Vernon resident, had bashed into several traffic signs before hitting a guardrail, according to an arrest report.

Police located fentanyl and drug paraphernalia in her purse at the scene, according to an arrest report.

The woman was charged with driving under the influence, a lane violation, the use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance amnd was to appear in court Tuesday, records show.
