Vernon Good Friday Trash Schedule Released

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Friday, April 18, in observance of Good Friday.

Trash and recycling will not be collected on that day but instead will be collected on Monday April 21, along with that day's regular collections. Trash and recycling carts should be out to the curb no later than 6 a.m. on collection day.

Excess trash and recycling may be brought to the Vernon Transfer Station year round at no charge to Vernon residents. The hours of operation are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Easter Sunday — April 20.
