HARTFORD/TOLLAND/WINDHAM COUNTY, CT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and a wind advisory for northern Connecticut.

The wind advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Friday. "Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected."

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result....Tree limbs and branches coated in ice from Thursday`s freezing rain event are more susceptible to being downed by the gust," the weather service said.

And then there may be some very light snow on Saturday and a chance for a winter storm on Monday night and Tuesday, according to the weather service.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 36. Breezy, with a northwest wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 19 to 24 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 38 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 13. Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Saturday: A chance of snow, mainly after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 26. North wind 5 to 7 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of snow before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 8 to 13 mph in the morning.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 24. Northwest wind 11 to 14 mph.

Monday: A chance of rain after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 41. Northwest wind around 9 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday Night: A chance of snow before 7pm, then snow likely, possibly mixed with rain between 7pm and 9pm, then snow after 9pm. Low around 28. East wind 10 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
