Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Hartford/Tolland County Tuesday

The weather service released a hazardous weather outlook for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties. Here's what you need to know.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND/WINDHAM COUNTY, CT — The National Weather Service said thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon and some of the storms could be strong.

The weather service wrote, "Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon, with the greatest concentration in the interior. A few strong storms are possible with gusty winds and heavy rainfall the primary threat. Localized urban and poor drainage nuisance flooding is possible."

Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 3pm and 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 10pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.


Tolland County forecast details:

Today: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 4pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Light and variable wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Partly cloudy, with a low around 64. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. West wind 3 to 8 mph.
